Arrived in Wellington in the early hours. First impressions were it seemed a bit stuck in a time warp, but in a good way. People are a lot more friendly and it seems to have a less commercial feel to it.
After a pretty good night’s sleep, got on a bus to the town centre. This also reminded me of England, but specifically Leeds, obviously disregarding the port! It was quite cloudy and damp so had a walk around the centre. Saw some of the filming locations from eagle vs shark (brilliant film!) And had a look around the museum. They had a wonderful exhibit on the Anzac Gallipoli campaign, then Maori culture and the geology of the island. Was very good. Due to the weather, again, pictures are lacking but heading to the south island tomorrow, pick up a car, and go exploring!
