So, here it is, last item of my list of things to do before I turn 35, cross the equator.  Big tick goes in that box!

First things I notice when leaving the airport, it’s not upside down, it’s actually cold, and it really looks like England!  Fortunately my network provider allows me to use my data connection in certain countries, Australia is one of them, so could let people know I’d arrived, including the very generous person I used to work with who offered to put me up for my time here!  Woke him up at 6am to tell him I’d landed and figure out how to get to his apartment.  Seems he’d had a heavy night before so 6 wasn’t a pleasant time!  I was running off maybe 2 hours sleep and had no sleep on the plane.  Got my bags and headed off to Central station, then used my now available internet connection to navigate to allow him a bit more sleep.

Arrived, had a shower and we headed out for Breakfast at Darling harbour.  Got sorted with a travel pass then got on the public transport ferry over to Manly.  I have a friend who moved over to Australia over 10 years ago, and I’ve also been promising to meet him.  He lives in Manly but was at work so we had a lovely walk around Manly Fort and cliffs.  Didn’t manage much in the way of photos my camera battery was running out so had to be selective.

This was on the return journey.  Had a brief catch up with Chris (who moved to Manly) then went out to eat, before heading back and getting some well needed sleep!
